Officially Caught Up

I am now officially caught up with blogging what pictures I have. Now I will keep it up and blog at least once a month! Even if I do find a job it shouldn't be that hard to keep up right?

Anyways, what is new with us is really nothing. I am trying to find a job, have had a couple interviews, but 2 were scams (or at least seemed like it). Otherwise I am just really organizing and cleaning the apartment and scrapbooking, reading, or blogging. I do have to say it is nice that I can have everything clean and dinner made when Nick gets home so that we can actually just do whatever we want at night and not have to make sure to get certain things done. Literally every night lately we have dinner, either go and play racquetball or play a game together, and then for about an hour Nick gets to play his video games and I read right next to him. It is great! So relaxing and nice! I do have to say I will miss that once I do get a job and we will have to start doing dishes and cleaning at night taking away that down time. Anyways, Nick is still at Generac, coming up on his annual review which means he has almost been there a year! It is crazy to think that in a week he will have been home for a year now. Wow time flies!!

Hope to keep everyone updated more consistently this year! Wish me luck :)

New Years Eve

We were kind of losers for New Years Eve this year. Initially the missionaries were supposed to come over, but they cancelled the night before. All of our friends already had plans and were not around, so we stayed at home by ourselves. We played the Wii, Life, and watched 3 movies. Then Nick just played video games when I fell asleep from 9:30 till 11:30…oopps :/ at least I woke up and didn’t sleep through the new year! We then watched the ball drop and had sparkling white grape juice at midnight, and went to bed! Yep, it was a crazy night lol but it was nice to just relax and spend time together because we don’t normally get to!

I had to put this picture on here because Nick looks so creepy lol

ChristmasTime

As our first Christmas together, we needed to figure out how to do Christmas. Nick has always said he is not traveling on holidays, however, he did this year. Until we have kids I don’t see why we can’t travel since it is just us, and we have an ideal situation. His family does Christmas Eve with his Grandma Ann in Sycamore during the day, My family does Christmas with my Grandma Nix in Waterman Christmas Eve night. So, it is perfect that we can go to his Christmas, then my Christmas, then stay with my family that night have Christmas morning with them and then Christmas afternoon with his family! So it wasn’t that much traveling and we were able to do a lot! It was so nice being with our families! I love Christmas time! Then Christmas night we had our own Christmas just us two. We bought ourselves a combined gift of the Wii with the game Just Dance. We then had a budget for each other of only $50 and then $10 for stockings, so it was difficult to stay within budget unless you find major sales or become creative. Nick found sales, I got creative and found sales. I got Nick trimmers, a head scratcher, and three seasons of his favorite TV show Son’s of Anarchy. I got the trimmers on sale, and then I bought season one on sale but then got season 2 & 3 by burning them! He was definitely excited! Nick got me the game Jenga because I said we needed more two people games, a t-shirt, and Zumba for the Wii, which he didn’t buy until two days before Christmas. I was excited for Zumba! It’s really fun but you still get a workout! It was a lot of fun and I look forward to next year!!

Nick tried to trick me by wrapping the presents in odd ways. This one was Jenga, but the blocks were not in the container, it was wrapped on top of the container and inside there was a shirt.
Nick surprised he got all three seasons of Son's of Anarchy!

Graduation from UWW

I am now officially a college graduate with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. Not going to lie, but I kind of wish I got my degree in something that I could find a job in. Now I am working full time trying to find one. Anyways, the ceremony wasn’t as long as we thought it would be, lasting about two hours with 700 students graduating. Also, I had 7 tickets for my family to come and used them all, but with Matt being the Chief of Police he was able to get his family seats with mine, so I had my own entourage of supporters! It was so nice having everyone there to support me! We then went back to our apartment and took pictures and then went to Nick’s Parents for lunch and took a few more pictures! It was a nice day although it wasn’t as relieving as I would have thought since I still had a final the upcoming Tuesday. A little stupid that I still had a final after I graduated…oh well! Now I am officially done Job hunting time!

Mom trying to take pictures of me on the big screen since she couldn't get close enough to take any normal pictures.

Processing Deer

Nick finally was able to go hunting this year! The weekend they were gone, Dana and I decided to have a crafting weekend where we make jewelry from Pinterest. Unfortunately it was a bust and only two crafts actually worked out of our 8 that we bought materials for. Anyways, Nick’s dad, Matt, got a buck on Saturday and then he shot one on Sunday but couldn’t find it. Nick actually ended up finding it, so we say it is his deer J Either way, there was two deer that needed to be processed and since it was so hot out it had to be done two days after they got home. No one thought that I would want to help and actually be useful, but I did! I then told my parents and they said they needed proof of me actually doing it, so here it is.

The beginning where I was just watching and staying out of the way. The a little later I held the deer still so Matt could cut the meat off easier! However, we didn't get pictures of me doing that, so when we stopped by the next day we got pictures of me by the deer! I promise though I really was helping!!

Cleaning the meat and separating it into ground, steak, stew and fajita meat.

All of us cutting the fat and other parts of the meat that we do not want to eat!
