I can't believe I am caught up!!!

My goal now is to stay that way!!! Now that I stay home with Owen, I should be able to update once a month, and hopefully that means I get more memories and special moments I want to remember about Owen since it will be fresh in my mind and not a year or a month ago!!! My other goal is to actually scrapbook!!! Do you think it will be possible to catch up in that?? Yeah....probably not, but to be only a year behind would be GREAT!!! Right now I am scrapbooking Nick and I getting engaged, March 2011....So three and a half years behind....that is a lofty goal, but my goal is to only be one year to 18 months behind before I have my 2nd child! 

And NO, we are not trying, it is not a plan as of yet. I want to enjoy my time with Owen before even thinking about having another. Truth be told, I actually understand people having an only child...I want more kids, this I know, but the concept of loving another child as much as I love Owen; another child to take more of my time away from Owen. I know you learn how to juggle and there is so much love to go around, but I understand. One day Owen will have a sibling, and I know I will be so happy and love that child just as much, but until then I just want to focus all my energy on Owen and enjoying his growth and teaching him, playing with him, reading to him, and loving him with all I have to give. 

September Craziness

I know this is a LOT of pictures, but since it was Owen's first birthday, I may have gone a little overboard with his pictures....I can't help it sometimes...I know when I go to scrapbook this I am going to struggle with what pictures to cut out!!! I need to learn how not to take so many pictures :)

The month started with us in our new home! Pictures to come once everything is put together! Nick started his last semester of school, while I worked on getting our place unpacked. Since I was having a party for Owen the last weekend of the month it gave me a deadline to have everything complete, which was nice and stressful at the same time. It was difficult since Nick wasn't really able to help me out because he was working and going to school. The days he was home he had to sleep all day to make up for the 3 hours he got the nights before, then weekends were super busy including Nick's cousin Carolann's wedding, Jimmy, Scarlett, and Parker's birthday party, scrapbooking weekend, and then the next weekend was Owen's party...busy busy month!

HE HAS HIS OWN CUPBOARD

Needless to say, Owen gets into EVERYTHING, so in the kitchen I gave him his own cupboard that he is able to go in and do whatever he wants. Thanks to my sister-in-law for this idea it helps out TONS when I am in the kitchen. Although he still tries to get into some of the other ones at times, he know that when I say no he can still go play in that one.

BATH TIME

He Loves Baths! I really just think he likes to play in the water because he doesn't really care for the "cleaning" part of the bath :)

All of these pictures are just adorable. You can see that he is happy now, BUT you will see there are times he doesn't like to take a bath and that is when.....

 HE TAKES A BATH WITH SCARLETT AND PARKER!!!

Yeah not very happy being between the girls, but...

he did warm up after we moved him out of the middle. He wasn't as happy and crazy as when he gets his own bath, but he tolerated it. I am sure he is just going to LOVE these pictures someday :)

MY LITTLE EATER

One of his favorite foods is noodles with creme of chicken soup and tuna. He eats almost as much as me!! (Sorry for all my pictures of him in his high chair, apparently I have an obsession with taking pictures of him while eating lol)

Oh my.....I thought he was into everything before, but now that he can walk he really is into EVERYTHING. Climbing up on things and wanting everything he isn't supposed to have. Oh goodness, it is starting....

*First Steps ON the day he turned 11 months!
*First word "Eat" and did the sign for it as well
*Loves to put caps on bottles or on anything that has a top to it
*Completely walking before his first birthday
*Climbing up on EVERYTHING
*Also says "ow" and "woah"

OWEN'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

For Owen's first birthday we ended up going shopping for some furniture before his party the next day. Not my ideal for his birthday, I really wanted to go to the zoo, BUT Nick did make a good point that maybe we shouldn't tire him out and have him be cranky for the party, and shopping only took us about 2 hours, so not nearly as exhausting as the zoo would have been. 

For Owen's Birthday I made him his favorite meals: Breakfast was blueberries, Lunch was tuna creme of chicken noodles (no pictures of that since I took some a couple weeks ago), and Pizza!! He is adorable and clearly loves to eat....which you can totally see in his little tummy :)

I just love this face!! I don't know what he was doing, but he is so cute!!

Present Time

We decided he would have enough presents to open at the party he could open all of his from us on his birthday. I mean we didn't do a cake or anything for him on his day, so the least we could do was let him open all his gifts :) 

He would rip off super tiny pieces of paper and then get interested in that instead of the present! Cute, but it made opening presents take a while to get opened, and there were only 4!!

OWEN'S FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY

 I was a little worried about Owen's party and being able to fit everyone in our apartment, but it worked out totally fine and was wonderful to have everyone here and we really appreciate everyone traveling and being here to celebrate with us.

 I make the cakes the night before but didn't frost until the morning. It took be quite a while, but I am super happy with how it turned out :)

PRESENT TIME

Grandma and Grandpa Berg got him a nice wagon that he LOVED :)

Best Reaction to toy, Opening up the Little People Noah's Arch. He wanted the animals opened right away and got so excited!!

 Yes, Devin got his a baby doll! I told her that boys need dolls too, so she found one for him. Even though the guys gave a hard time about giving Owen a baby because he was a boy at least Devin got him a boy baby doll :)

 Parker took the baby and wanted to get in on the opening presents too!!

 He LOVES his computer that Aunt Andi, Uncle Jimmy and the girls got him! Hopefully he will play with that when I am using my computer instead of trying to play on mine!

I know these are a lot of pictures of Owen in the birthday hat, BUT they all are Owen with a different hilarious expression on his face!!! He clearly didn't like it much and didn't know what to do about it!! Oh this kid just has my heart <3 nbsp="" p="">
